Mist

A 5 to 10 micron cloud that evaporates before it lands. Not a small fountain — a different discipline with a different failure mode.

At 70 bar through a 0.2 mm orifice the droplet distribution centres around 5 to 10 microns, small enough to evaporate in flight in most conditions and never wet the ground. That is the entire appeal: an effect that occupies volume without occupying a basin, on a plaza that has to stay dry and trafficable.

It is also the effect with the most serious hygiene obligation in the catalogue. A warm, stagnant, aerosolising water system is the textbook description of a legionella risk, and mist is aerosol by definition. Ours run on a dedicated potable feed with no stored volume, drain down completely between programmes, and are dosed and logged. We will not install one on a recirculating basin, and we have walked away from two jobs over it.

Design for wind by giving up on controlling it. A 7 micron droplet has no momentum worth the name; it goes wherever the air goes. Either accept that the cloud will drift and place it where drift is harmless, or do not use mist. Chilling it makes it visibly denser and it will pool in a low corner if you let it.
